This is a direct-acting, spool-type, 3-way 2-position, internal vented directional valve. It allows flow between port 3 and port 2 with a spring-biased spool. The spool will pilot-to-shift when sufficient pilot pressure is applied at port 1 to overcome the spring bias, allowing flow between port 4 and port 3, while port 2 remains blocked. The spring chamber is vented to the atmosphere.
- The back pressure at port 4 will increase the pilot pressure at port 1 in a 1:1 ratio, plus the pressure from the bias spring.
- Spool valves will have normal leakage due to spool clearance.
