Ultra-restrictive counterbalance valves (overcenter valves) with pilot assist provides static and dynamic control of loads to prevent overruning of hydraulic actuators such as cylinders or motors. The check section allows free flow from port 2 to port 1 then holds and locks the load against movement. The directacting, pilot-assisted relief valve section control flow from port 1 to port 2 when pilot pressure is applied. Pilot pressure at port 3 reduces the pressure setting by pilot ratio of counterbalance valve but the pressure required to open the valve and start actuator movement can be calculated as follows: Pilot Pressure = [(Relief setting)-(Load Pressure)]/ Pilot Ratio. Due to the spring chamber being referenced to atmosphere, the valve setting is insensitive to back pressure at port 2. Varying the pilot ratios can optimize the hydraulic system by providing stable load control and improving energy efficiency.

  • This is a pilot-assisted, poppet type valve.
  • Reduce valve setting and release load by turning screw clockwise.
  • Restrictive counterbalance valves function with relief, including thermal relief.
  • The pressure setting will increase when back pressure at port 2. PS=(PR+1)xBP; PS=Pressure Setting, PR=Pilot Ratio, BP=Back Pressure.
  • There are two check valve cracking pressures supplied. Winner® recommends to apply the 1.7 bar (25 psi) check except actuator cavitation is a concern.
  • Counterbalance valve is ideal for mounting directly near or in cylinder, hydraulic motor and rotary actuator as protection to increase the safety of the circuit.
  • Pressure setting should be at least 1.3 times the maximum load-induced pressure. ( We suggests when the maximum setting pressure is 350 bar, the load pressure has to be lower than 270 bar.)
  • When a valve is set at standard pressure, it is important to note that the reseat percentage should not exceed 85% of the set pressure or it will lower the reaseat performance.
  • External components are WINNERcoat® Zinc-Nickel Plating for 1000 hours salt spray test according to DIN EN ISO 9227. Also, some ordering code with letter "P" at the end is stainless steel external components. The ordering code with letter "S" at the end is all components of cartridge valve are made of stainless steel for special requirements such as deep sea, marine or water based hydraulic.
  • Internal components are made of high-quality alloy steel, processed heat treatment and precision machined to achieve excellent wear resistance, low leakage, smooth movement and long service life.
  • Winner guarantees that all products performance a 100% functional test before shipment.
