This is a spool-type, normally open, modulating logic element valve.
Model X=30 is designed without an internal orifice, it can be used as a bypass compensator or switching element. When pressure at port 1 exceeds spring bias, the spool shifts to allow flow from port 2 to port 1. Pilot pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
Model X=31 is designed with an internal orifice between port 1 and port 3. When pressure at port 1 exceeds spring bias, the spool shifts to allow flow from port 2 to port 1. The differential pressure between port 1 and port 3 adds directly to the valve setting. The flow from port 3 to port 1 is restricted by the internal orifice. This valve can serve as a main-stage relief element, allowing remote control when paired with a pilot relief valve or pilot solenoid valve.
- When the pressure drop of LP-163A-30 is 14 bar, the orifice is not able to satisfy customer's demand for higher flow. We recommend selecting PD-163A-3J, which has a larger orifice and can be adjusted to a higher pressure drop to allow greater flow.
