This is a pilot-operated, spool-type reducing/relieving valve an integral 8A-2 control cavity for use with any 8A-2 pressure control cartridge valve. It allows bi-directional flow between port 2 and port 1. When the pressure at port 1 exceeds the pressure setting, the spool shifts to restrict flow at port 2, regulating the pressure at port 1. If the pressure at port 1 continues to rise above the valve setting, the spool shifts further to relieve excess pressure through port 3 (tank) until the set pressure is restored. The pressure differential between port 1 and port 4 (drain port) is determined by the pilot valve. This valve is commonly paired with Winner proportional relief valves, such as the PRB8A or PRA8A.

  • The maximum inlet pressure is determined by the bias spring. The D spring is limited to 140 bar (2000 psi) maximum differential pressure and the W spring is limited to 350 (5000 psi) maximum inlet pressure.
  • Pressure at port 4 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should less than 350 bar (5000 psi).
  • Working parts are heat-treated and high-precision ground to increase hardness for long life.
