This valve is a pilot-operated, balanced poppet relief valve with an integral 8A-2 pilot control cavity, designed for use with any 8A-2 pressure control cartridge valve. When the pressure at port 1 overcomes the pilot control setting, it opens port 2 and allows metered flow to regulate the pressure. The pressure differential between port 1 and port 2 is determined by the settings of the pilot control. It is commonly paired with Winner pilot-operated proportional relief valves, PRB-8A-Y-Z or PRA-8A-Y-Z.

Maximum pressure can be accepted at port 2, suitable for use in cross port relief circuits.
