This is a direct-acting, poppet-type, differential area relief valve. The valve blocks flow from port 2 to port 1 until the pressure at port 2 overcome the valve setting, it lifts the poppet and allow relief flow from port 2 to port 1 (tank). This valve offers quick response to load changes in hydraulic circuits requiring low internal leakage.
- Maximum pressure can be accepted at port 1, but it is necessary to install double back-up rings to valve for cross port relief circuit application. Leakage of spool should be concerned.
- The maximum leakage is approximately 5 drops/min to 85% of nominal setting.
- Back pressure at port 1 (tank port) is added directly to the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio.
- Excellent stability throughout flow range with fast response to dynamic pressure changes.
