This is a direct-acting, spool type, 4-way 3-position solenoid valve. When both coils are de-energized, port 1, port 2 and port 4 are open to each other while port 3 is blocked. When S1 is energized, it allows flow from port 2 to port 1 and from port 3 to port 4. When S2 is energized, it allows flow from port 3 to port 2 and from port 4 to port 1.
