This is a direct-acting, poppet-type relief valve intended for use as a pressure-limiting device to protect hydraulic systems from pressure transients. The valve blocks flow from port 1 to port 2 until the pressure at port 1 is sufficient to overcome the valve setting, it lifts the poppet and opens to port 2 (tank) throttling flow to restrict the pressure rise. It provides fast response, rugged and dirt-tolerant operation, and good pressure vs. flow characteristics.

Maximum pressure can be accepted at port 2, suitable for use in cross port relief circuits.

The maximum leakage is approximately 5 drops/min to 85% of nominal setting.
